In Volkstedt bei Eisleben baut Sachsen-Anhalt einen neuen Abschiebeknast – direkt neben der JVA Volkstedt und auf dem Gelände eines ehemaligen NS-Zwangsarbeitslagers. Der Bau läuft seit Oktober 2024, die Eröffnung ist für Ende 2027 geplant. Das Gefängnis stellt dabei einen weiteren Schritt dar, Abschiebungen immer weiter zu systematisieren und People on the move weiter zu entrechten! Auch in Thüringen, Sachsen und Brandenburg sind weitere Abschiebeknäste geplant. Gleichzeitig wird eine bundesweite „koordinierende Haftplatzvermittlung“ vorbereitet, um Abschiebungen weiter auszuweiten. Bei der Veranstaltung stellt die Initiative Fight Deportation Jail LSA ihre Recherchen und Einschätzungen zum geplanten Abschiebeknast vor. Wir freuen uns auf euch!

In Volkstedt near Eisleben, Saxony-Anhalt is building a new deportation prison – right next to the Volkstedt prison and on the site of a former Nazi forced labour camp. Construction has been underway since October 2024, with the opening planned for the end of 2027. The prison represents a further step towards the increasing systematisation of deportations and the continued disenfranchisement of people on the move! Further deportation prisons are also planned in Thuringia, Saxony and Brandenburg. At the same time, a nationwide ‘coordinated detention placement’ system is being prepared to further expand deportations. At the event, the Fight Deportation Jail LSA initiative will present its research and assessments on the planned deportation prison. After the input, there will be an opportunity to continue discussing the topic in a relaxed setting. We look forward to seeing you there!
